Step 1: rule out buildup first

Lotion, sunscreen, perfume, and ordinary skin oils can leave a thin film that looks like discoloration but isn’t. Wipe the piece with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth — no soap needed for this first check — and see if the original tone comes back. This resolves the majority of “my piece looks different” questions on its own.

Step 2: if the color has genuinely changed

If a clean wipe doesn’t bring the tone back and the gold color has actually faded, thinned, or worn through — usually first noticeable at a high-contact spot like the inside of a ring band or the back of a clasp — email info@stylr.us with:

  • a clear, well-lit photo of the piece.

What the warranty doesn’t cover

The color warranty covers qualifying finish failure — it isn’t a promise that a piece will look untouched forever. Scratches, surface marks from daily wear, and darkening from bleach, undiluted pool or spa chemicals, jewelry cleaner, or perfume sprayed directly on the piece fall outside of it, the same as most jewelry warranties. If your order just arrived and it’s already damaged or clearly not right, that’s a different, faster path — email us within 48 hours of delivery with a photo and we’ll send a replacement or refund without needing anything back.
