Yes, Stylr jewelry is hypoallergenic and friendly to most sensitive skin — and we want to be precise about what that means, because a lot of brands aren’t.
The honest version
316L surgical stainless steel does contain a small amount of nickel by composition — all stainless steel does. What makes it skin-friendly is that the nickel is locked into the steel and releases at very low levels, within the limit set by the EU’s REACH nickel regulation. That’s why 316L is used for body-piercing jewelry.
So we say “hypoallergenic,” never “nickel-free.” Claiming “nickel-free” would not be true, and being straight with you about materials is the whole point of Stylr.
If you have a confirmed nickel allergy
For most people with sensitive skin or mild reactions to cheap jewelry, 316L is a big step up and is comfortable to wear. But if you have a medically confirmed nickel allergy, the most reliably safe metals are titanium or niobium — and we’d rather tell you that than oversell. (Stylr pieces are stainless steel, not titanium.)
If you’re not sure, start with a single piece and see how your skin responds over a few days.
