Necklace length is mostly a matter of where you want the piece to sit — here’s what each length does.

Standard lengths and where they sit

  • 16” (≈40 cm) sits right at the base of the neck, close to the collarbone.
  • 18” (≈45 cm) sits just below the collarbone. It’s the most popular everyday length because it works with most necklines.
  • 20” and up (≈50 cm and up) falls toward the top of the neckline and lower, and is the easiest length to layer over shorter chains.

These are starting points, not fixed rules — the same length can sit slightly differently depending on your neck size. If a style has a pendant or charm, check the individual product page for the exact drop, since the pendant adds to how low the piece hangs.

Layering more than one necklace

Leave about 2–3 inches (≈5–7.5 cm) of length between each chain so they sit at visibly different heights instead of bunching together or tangling. A 16”/18”/20” set, for example, gives each chain its own space to lie flat.

Not sure how a length will actually look

Check the listed dimensions alongside the product photos. If a measurement isn’t listed, email info@stylr.us with the product link before you order, and we’ll help confirm it.

Bracelets and anklets

Length guidance for bracelets, anklets, and other pieces isn’t one-size-fits-all the way collarbone-based necklace length roughly is — check the length and fit details on the individual product page before ordering. If a measurement isn’t listed on the page, email info@stylr.us with the product name and we’ll confirm it before you buy.

If the length isn’t right once it arrives

A necklace that runs shorter or longer than expected is covered the same way a ring size is: our 30-day satisfaction guarantee, starting from the day your order arrives, covers a length exchange. In most cases you won’t need to mail the original back before we sort out the correct length, and Stylr covers the return shipping on the occasions one is needed.
